This is where I become really boring and tell you all about my life..... Ok not everything but here are the basics:
I was born in Leeds on 23/06/1972. I left School at the age of 16 and worked in various meaningless jobs (e.g. fish fryer at Harry Ramsdens) before settling in the life of a publican. After spending so much time drinking vast quantities of liquid poetry (due to the nature of my work) I decided to make some life altering decisions.....I had a simple choice, either stay where I am and drink myself to an early grave or do something about my situation, baring in mind that at this stage I was getting close to 19 stone in weight. Not known for doing anything by half’s, I managed to blag an entry to the 1997 London Marathon. After many months of very slow plodding, the big day arrived and I managed to drag myself around the course in just over five hours. The then slightly fitter publican decided that the life of alcohol abuse must come to an end, so I found myself packing in work and attending college to gain the necessary qualifications to get myself into university. I graduated from The University of Manchester in 2001 with a degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and moved to London where I worked as an Electrical Design Engineer for the Railway industry. In January 2006, I left London and emigrated to the USA where I now live with my fiance Nancy on the East Side of Manhattan, New York City. In my spare time, I train for marathons and triathlons, I have just completed my first half ironman distance triathlon and I am currently training for the Chicago Marathon (Oct. 2006) and Ironman Switzerland (Jun. 2007).
